As per Vastu Shastra, the direction you sleep in affects your health and mental state because your body is constantly interacting with the five elements (earth, water, fire, air, space) and the Earth’s magnetic field. Sleeping with your head in the right direction helps you align better with these natural forces, promoting deeper, more restful sleep and better overall well-being.

It is recommended to keep your head in the south (and feet pointing to the north). According to Vastu, the south is the most auspicious direction for sleeping. This aligns with the Earth’s magnetic field, which flows from north to south. The human body is like a magnet, with the head as the north pole and the feet as the south pole. Sleeping with the head pointing south aligns the body’s magnetic field with that of the Earth, promoting good health, peaceful sleep, and mental stability.

If the first position is not possible because of your bedroom’s arrangement, then you can sleep with your head pointing the east. The east is the direction of the rising Sun, symbolizing new beginnings, health, and spiritual growth. Sleeping with your head pointing east is said to improve memory, concentration, and spiritual inclination.

You can also go for a neutral direction, which is the west.

However, sleeping with your head pointing north is strongly discouraged in Vastu. This is because the north pole of the Earth’s magnetic field repels the north pole of the human body (the head), causing a disruption in energy flow. This can lead to restlessness, disturbed sleep, and health issues.
