Know the 8 Directions

North-East (ईशान्य - Ishanaya)

East (पूर्व - Purva)

South-East (आग्नेय - Agneya)

South (दक्षिण - Dakshina)

South-West (नैऋत्य - Nairutya)

West (पश्चिम - Paschima)

North-West (वायव्य - Vayavya)

North (उत्तर - Uttara)

Quick Do’s & Don’ts

All of these are with reference to the tentative centre of the vastu (brahmasthan).

Don’t keep your house’s entrance in the South West or South (earth element so needs heavy storage to ensure stability). Keep the entrance in North East, North, East or West.
Don’t keep bathrooms in the North East, North, Southt East or East (water element so need free flow & not heavy constructions; fire element so can cause relationship issues or health problems). Place bathrooms in North West or South of South West.
